Pictured above a chandelier made of paper
. This one was just practice. I tried to incorporate these recently discovered styles in my piece, while trying not to veer too far off my own style.
This was the first time I used paper
as the main material. The concept of this piece here is to have a chandelier shaped like a flower
ball, which is made of silk, in ancient Chinese weddings. I used paper to form it. Although paper is not as strong as plastic or acrylic, it is very malleable. The similarities between the wedding ball and my work show not only in shapes and forms but also in the close texture of their materials.
Having practiced with material, I now understand how to incorporate a new style into my work, boarding my horizons and making me more versatile.
